PSAC & Tac-Pierce Collaborative Network: Meet our Green Space Creating Champions!

  • Tacoma Public Library Main Branch 1102 Tacoma Avenue South Tacoma, Washington, 98402 United States (map)

How much do our green spaces impact our health? Respiratory, Mental, Environmental, Children’s/Seniors Health? Do green spaces help with PM2.5 exposure? How about pollution reduction, heat reduction?

This is a special event bringing together our community experts that help us create green spaces. Partners will have a table to share projects and panel discussion. Come meet and build partnerships!

City of Tacoma’s Urban Forestry

‍Pierce Conservation District: DePave Puget Sound Program

Pierce Conservation District: Wildfire- Planting right

Tacoma Tree Foundation- The why of green spaces

Trust for Public Land- Transforming School Yards‍ ‍

Department of Ecology- Overburdened communities- Air Quality and the Bridge Point Industrial Settlement lessons

Without healthy soil, clean air and fresh/clean water - no one thrives. If we want to make a positive impact on our health- we need to go back to the basics.

Questions we hope to answer: What are the benefits of more green spaces? How can we get involved? Who does what? Which plants trigger allergies and asthma? Which plants are fire hazards? Which reduce heat? Which bring in more fresh/healthy air and protect our families from pollution?
