Green Blocks is Tacoma Tree Foundation’s neighborhood-specific program that provides community outreach, engagement, and TREES! Our goal is to empower residents by reducing barriers, providing tree care education, and assisting in tree selection, delivery, and planting. TTF brings trees to the areas where they have the most social and environmental impact. The focus of these efforts is centered in neighborhoods where the need for trees, greening, community health, and human well-being are the greatest.

Tacoma Tree Foundation uses American Forest’s Tree Equity Score and the City of Tacoma’s Community Forestry Map to identify which neighborhoods are in most need of this social and environmental service. We recognize that certain communities in the Puget Sound region face significant obstacles to enjoying healthy and broad tree canopy. This is why Green Blocks is designed to support those communities, families, and individuals who would otherwise be unable to plant trees due to financial, physical, and/or social barriers.
