Tree Walk Guide Training

  • Peace Community Center 2106 South Cushman Avenue Tacoma, WA, 98405 United States (map)

TTF loves taking neighbors on tree walks! If you’ve joined us, you’ve experienced the unique ways learning about trees transforms our relationship with the city, our neighborhoods, and each other. We’ll keep holding walks as long as we’re around. But true to our community stewardship mission, we want you to be able to take your neighbors on a walk and share your unique perspective of what makes our urban forest so important and beautiful!

Join us for a unique training opportunity where Sarah Low will share her years of experience designing walks that help people connect with nature. We will:

  • Learn how to design walks focused on trees and nature

  • Learn how to create welcoming walks that invite curiosity and participation

  • Go on a neighborhood walk

  • Create an outline for a walk of our own

  • Meet new neighbors!

Registration is capped at 25.

This event is free and open to anyone interested in cultivating love for our shared urban forest.

This event is possible thanks to Tacoma Creates.

  • Please make sure to wear indoor and outdoor friendly clothing. Bring anything you need to stay hydrated and comfortable throughout the training. We will provide tea, coffee, and lunch. Please bring snacks and anything else you need to keep you energized throughout the training.

This event is free to all. The in-person event space is wheelchair accessible over gravel and through grass. There is free parking in a gravel lot at the venue. There are bathrooms onsite. This location is accessible by a short walk from Pierce Transit bus Route 2 and Route 57.
