Tree Stewards Training

Would you like to help care for trees in your community?

You will learn: Information on tree selection, care, and planting. Participants will also learn how to communicate about trees with their neighbors and engage in their community. Become a tree steward and gain essential tools on how to connect with your community about trees and their collective benefits!

Cost: FREE 

Capacity: Up to 20 tree stewards will receive the skills they need to take local actions and engage with their communities about sustainability and stewardship.

Snacks, light refreshments and lunch will be provided.

Please apply by September 22nd, applications will be accepted by September 23rd. 

Applications from Tacoma Frontline Communities will be prioritized.

Where: Eastside Community Center Cheney classroom

  • This event space is wheelchair accessible and has elevators. There is a paved parking lot onsite with ADA stalls. Individuals with disabilities are permitted to be accompanied by their service animals in all public spaces. Restrooms are available through entire event.

    Lunch will be provided along with snacks and light refreshments.

    The training will be in English only and not amplified.

This program is rooted in partnership and community. With funding from the City of Tacoma’s Urban Forestry Program, our partnership supports the long-term growth and stewardship of Tacoma’s tree canopy.
