The Last 6000 Webinar

Trees are majestic. Trees are history. Trees are habitat. Trees are poems. But these invaluable arboreal contributions to our cities and our lives are not usually taken into account in the development of urban projects. In fact, if you live in Tacoma or Seattle, you have probably witnessed and felt the loss of more than one majestic tree over the past few years.

What can we do? The Last 6000 is an ongoing campaign to find and document majestic trees (trees with a trunk of 30 inches or greater) with the hope that data can support neighbors and community groups in their efforts to care for and, when needed, save these trees.

If you, too, are concerned about everything we, our neighbors, city residents, and our fellow animal beings lose when an established tree or a majestic tree is diseased or cut down, join our friends from The Last 6000 on 10/3 at 6pm online as they share their accomplishments and the ongoing challenges they are working hard to tackle in their effort to document and, whenever possible, save Seattle’s majestic trees.
