Making a Way out of No Way: Creating a Home in the Landscape of the PNW

People of Color in the Pacific Northwest have utilized various methods to remake the landscape to reflect their own identity. In this free webinar, Dr. Mario Sifuentez (UC Merced) will demonstrate some of the ways these communities have done so both by altering the landscape and by reimagining their space.

Dr. Sifuentez is an Associate Professor of History at the University of California, Merced, and is currently the director of the Humanities Center. His book, Of Forests and Fields: Mexican Labor in the Pacific Northwest recovers the history of Mexican immigrant labor in both agricultural and reforestation projects that have shaped the landscape of this region of the country.
