Join Parks Tacoma, Tacoma Tree Foundation, and the City of Tacoma at Wapato Hills Park to plant 18 trees on Green Tacoma Day.
We will plant larger deciduous trees and fruit trees. The fruit trees will grow into an edible orchard for residents. In addition, we will mulch trees throughout the park preparing them for winter.
Thank you for supporting our planting project. This project is one of Parks Tacoma’s areas identified in our Urban Forest Wildfire Management Plan (2025) to increase tree canopy coverage to 30% at this location. Parks Tacoma is committed to providing greenery in historically underserved communities throughout Tacoma for all to enjoy through local partnerships.
