Tree Walk: From the Forest to the Sea

  • University of Puget Sound 1567-1625 N Union Ave Tacoma, WA United States (map)

The Walk | 11AM

Is the rustling of leaves in the wind music to your ears? It is to NW Sinfonietta and the Tacoma Tree Foundation! This is why we are partnering to bring trees and music together! The Foundation will be leading a tree walk to precede NW Sinfonietta’s Sky & Sea Concert. Inspired by our beautiful Puget Sound region and the importance of caring for it, Northwest Sinfonietta's Sky and Sea explores three expansive and imaginative works—Marjan Mozetich’s Postcards from the Sky, Debussy's iconic La Mer, and Viet Cuong's Re(new)al, celebrating renewable hydro, wind and solar energy. Join us for a special wintery morning walk with Sarah Low where we will learn about how trees winter, and how they are connected to the sky and the sea.

Meeting Point: We will meet at Schneebeck Concert Hall, University of Puget Sound (1567-1625 N Union Ave, Tacoma, WA 98416).

To arrive, use parking lot/pathways off Union Avenue.
