Urban Tree Health Walk

  • Alling Park 1134 S 60th St Tacoma (map)

Join Us Beneath the Canopy with a View of Mt. Tahoma

As we walk, learn from WSU Urban Forest Health Lab Researcher, Dr. Joey Hulbert and discover how to care for your trees and protect the landscape we share. Explore the Cultural vs. Biological Tree Impacts – What’s the difference and why it matters. Spot the Signs – Learn to identify tree stress, pests, and disease early. Tools & Resources – Practical ways to mitigate and manage tree health threats

Please dress appropriately for PNW summer weather and bring your own water and note taking materials. Prepare to walk approximately 1 mile on pavement or wide gravel walk ways.

Hosted in partnership by Tacoma Tree Foundation, WSU Forest Health Watch with funding provided by the City of Tacoma Urban Forestry Program, whose support makes these educational opportunities possible.

  • Talk is in English and will be amplified. Street parking, wide paved and gravel walkways. The activity is facilitated through standing and walking. We welcome participants to bring resources like folding chairs if that supports their engagement. No bathrooms. Residential street noise.
